Soprifix - 10 Questions & Answers about our microencapsulated adhesive range

1. What is a threadlocker ?

Threadlocking is a technology designed to prevent unintentional loosening caused by vibration, thermal shock or dynamic stress.

Two technologies are available:

  • Liquid glue: Applied manually or automatically, it polymerizes in the absence of air.
  • Pre-coating: Pre-application of a microencapsulated adhesive to a ready-to-use screw.

Soprifix is a pre-coating product that activates during screwing, eliminating manual application errors.

2. What are the features of Soprifix ?

Soprifix is a range of epoxy-based micro-encapsulated adhesives designed to lock and seal fasteners. Its special features include :

  • Composition: the adhesive is contained in microcapsules. When tightened, the capsules burst and release the adhesive.
  • Technical resistance:
    – Temperature resistance from -55°C to +150°C
    – Compatible with most fluids

3. What is the impact on tightening and loosening torque ?

Soprifix optimizes mechanical performance thanks to :

– Reduced tightening torque: The dry coating generates a controlled coefficient of friction, limiting energy loss through friction.

– High breakaway torque: After polymerization, breakaway torque reaches ≥ 90% of tightening torque.

– Preload maintained: The adhesive fills micro-gaps, preventing preload relaxation even under vibration.
